We just got back from the Philadelphia Temple open house. We loved the city of Philadelphia and had such a nice time at the temple. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the city on a duck tour (an amphibian vehicle). We stayed at a very comfortable hotel and look forward to going back someday.
The kids came home and promptly dressed up as constitutionalists. Ben even took his copy of the constitution to church complete with a feather pen.
We took our nieces Kaylynn and Ashley to NYC to fly to SLC. On the way we stopped by the Statue of Liberty. It was a fun day even though the weather was extremely warm and traffic was horrific. The girls got on the flight and we enjoyed our stay in the country's biggest city.
We had a chance to spend some time this summer at 8th Lake in the Adirondacks. We rented a canoe and loved our time on the water. The kids had a ball! The weather was perfect and our vista simply beautiful!!
When we are home and it's not sweltering - in the evening we like to play baseball in the field. There is a fair amount of climbing trees and other things going on. We enjoy this spot of heaven!
Our home has been under construction all summer. I am excited to get it back into shape. We will work on siding this fall and complete the flooring and trim along with the painting etc. and then we will move in. I love the new amount of space.
We just got back from Cape Cod. It was a wonderful trip and the kids really enjoyed the ocean, finding crabs, hermit crabs, whale watching and rolling around in the sand. Joseph and I enjoyed the time away from the construction project and time off work.
Whale watching was the best ever. We have been so blessed!
Life is like an old-time rail journey--delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride. ~Jenkin Lloyd Jones
