Logging

The kids have a new favorite activity. Who knew that cheap weekend entertainment could consist of a rope attached to a tree. We decided to cut down two of our pine trees at the end of the driveway. When Joseph attached the rope to a branch (pretty far up on the tree) the kids discovered that they could hang onto the rope and the others would pull and they would go flying into the air. It was a ton of great fun. The kids were great helpers cleaning up the limbs too.

Carpeting

We decided to finally carpet the bedrooms upstairs. When we visited Kenneth and Heidi in Georgia we loved their carpet and copied them. Rachel was terrific and gave me good advise and we found an distributor and installer and whoa-la. I have to say I love the softness, what it does for the noise level, and the look.

National Pig Day

March 1st was National Pig Day. Who knew? We made these darling cupcakes (at Benjamin's request) and delivered them to teachers at school.  It was a squeal!

Lily's Birthday

Lily had a super special day on her birthday. She of course was thrilled - up early and ready for whatever the day brought.  She loved her princess cake.  She has matured a lot this year and has become my best helper.  For her birthday she got the mp4 player of her dreams and lots of attention from family and grandparents.
We sure love our little Lily!

Andy's birthday

Andy it turning into a nice boy. He loves to read and I can often find him on his bed reading Harry Potter. For his birthday he got a pair of binoculars.  It was a real surprise for him -- one that I think he liked quite a bit.

Elf Kevin

We got an Elf on the shelf this year.  He was really pretty good and the kids loved him.  He stayed until New Years eve and then left us for the north pole.  We hope he comes back next year.

Miss Alec?

Lily loves to dress her little brother up in all kinds of "getups". A few weeks ago while I was getting ready for church Alec appeared in this "outfit".  I do love how well they play together.  Lily takes good care of her special little brother.
